ABOUT PAUL

EARLY CAREER

Paul formed his first band in sixth grade and never lost his passion for rock. After years of classical training in piano, voice, and trumpet, he moved to Los Angeles shortly before graduating from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. He went on to work as a singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and studio musician in California, New York, and London.

LATER LIFE

Paul was diagnosed with HIV in the early stages of the pandemic, and later with AIDS. Despite declining health, he continued his "Rockin' for AIDS" projects until 1996, when he returned to Cincinnati to be with family.

LEGACY

Paul earned widespread respect for his talent, dedication, and character. His music combines compelling lyrics with technical mastery. He continues to influence a global audience through an active online presence with friends, colleagues, fans, and family.

Digitized from a VHS tape, this video is a rehearsal performance of the song This Could Take Forever with Zoo Drive for The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers (Fox, October 1986–May 1987).

Host Joan Rivers initially called the band "Magritte" but corrected the band name for the live broadcast. The actual air date is unknown.

The album title was inspired by a quote attributed to Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) from Thus Spoke Zarathustra:

"I would believe only in a god that knew how to dance."
